Dear Parents,
The first week of school has been great. The teachers have settled into their routines and students have adjusted to the school day. Our first week was quiet and purposeful which has established an atmosphere of learning.
I am proud of our upper grade students that are mentoring our new students and kindergarteners. New students are being mentored so their transition into our school is smooth. We welcome all new families to our school. You should see the 6 th graders helping our kindergarteners at lunch. They are kind and gentle and the little kids are very responsive to their help. Service to others is a very important quality that we instill in all of our students.
Service is also needed from you. Please, be active in our Home and School Association. The Home and School is, of course, very active in fund raising for many needs that we have in our school. But they also have many committees that are a service to school and indirectly to the parish. We need committed volunteers who will, hopefully, in the future consider taking leadership roles. Without the hard work and determination of our parents in Home and School, we would be much less of a school. In fact, there may not have been a school.
Please welcome to our school three new teachers: 5 th grade is Mrs. Michele Cross, 1st grade is Mr. Matthew Giunti and our new gym and health teacher is Coach Gregory Ellsworth. They are excited to be with our family and have demonstrated a passion for Catholic education. I am impressed with their professionalism and commitment to our school.
Our school is blessed with a hard working staff. I am very thankful for the work and extra effort they do for our students. I am thankful for the continued support of Father Ken and the Parish Council for believing in our school and doing everything they can to enhance our ministry and that of other ministries in our parish.
We must remember that we are one of many ministries that serve young and old, the sick and dying, and the spiritual needs of our parish. For those families that are members of our parish, I need you to support our parish as you do our school. Take your children to church as often as you are able and be involved in supporting and volunteering for the parish. Remember, a strong parish supports a strong school.
God Bless, Mr. G
