Dear Parents,

Thank you for your generosity, cookies and candy at Christmas. I appreciate your thoughtfulness and kind regards for the Christmas Season. I hope you had a spirit filled and restful break.

The New Year brings many challenges to our school. The greatest are to recruit new students for St. Mark and to promote Catholic Education in Kenosha. I am very pleased with the work of our recruitment committee and chairperson Laurie McKeon. They are tireless workers for our school and for Catholic Education in Kenosha. Please support their efforts.

The staff is putting the final touches on Catholic Schools Week (January 28 – February 1) activities. I encourage you to actively participate during Catholic Schools Week. Please encourage families that you know to consider our school for their educational and spiritual needs. Even though we have set a date for open house, we are willing to give tours and information anytime. A schedule of events will be in our next Wednesday folder.

If you know of any family that wishes to enroll their 3 or 4 year olds in a daycare, I highly recommend our partners in education Caterpillar College. They have a comprehensive program that readies students for our kindergarten. They also have a 2 year old mommy and me class. I am very impressed with their curriculum and teaching methods.

Please keep in your prayers Shirley Boss our former principal. She broke her leg during Christmas and is now in rehab. We wish her a speedy recovery. She is our super sub and does many hours of volunteer work for our school. She is missed.

God Bless,

Mr. G
