Dear Parents,

     Our school is secured. We have installed a magnetic lock on our entrance door on 14 th Avenue with a camera and intercom. We are requesting all persons entering our building during school hours to buzz in and report to the office to sign in and get a visitor's badge.

     All visitors that volunteer or have business in our school must sign in at the main office. Complete the information requested on our sign in form and put on a badge. When you are finished return the badge to the office and sign out. If you have business to take care of in the office, you do not have to sign in.

     Signing students in and out of school during school hours will also start now. If you need to pick – up your student for any reason during the school day you must sign them out in the office. If you send another person to get your child during the school day, they must be listed on your emergency form. If we are not sure who a person is, we will ask for a photo ID. When or if you return with the student during the school day, you must sign in that student.

     Because of our safety policies, we must have accurate emergency forms. Please fill out or update your emergency form and return it to the office as soon as possible.

     Please remember not to drop off your child before 7:35 a.m. We do not have personnel on supervisory duty until 7:35 a.m. If you need to drop off your child earlier, we suggest you use our before care at Caterpillar College.

     Please remember to pick up your child before 3:00 p.m. We do not have personnel on supervisory duty past 3:00 p.m. If you need aftercare, we suggest you use our after care at Caterpillar College. All students left after 3:00 p.m. in our office or outside will be escorted to aftercare at Caterpillar College.

     Most parents are diligent about drop off and pick up. If you occasionally do run into a problem, call the office. We will try to help you. We do not want a child to be hurt or lost because of early or late rides. Please, it takes all of us to protect our children. If a child has an after or before school activity, please remember to be on time for drop off and pick up. Again, if a child is not picked up within 15 minutes from the agreed end of an activity, that child will be escorted to aftercare at Caterpillar College.

     Thank you for your continued support of our school. I was at the Home and School meeting Monday night and I am pleased with the response and responsibility our parents have demonstrated. If you have a chance to drop in at a Home and School meeting, please do. You will catch the ‘good feeling' and maybe become more involved in our school and parish.
