Dear Parents,

Thank you for supporting our new sign in and sign out procedures. I am pleased with your compliance. We all need to work together to keep our school safe. Just a reminder, please make sure the outside door is closed completely when you leave the building. This should be done for all exit doors. They are old and tend to stick open on occasion. I understand that Building and Grounds is aware of the problem.

We need parent volunteers to help with our lunch and lunch recess programs. I am asking parents, who would be willing to help, to give one day a week to volunteer. I cannot give you credit for your tuition but you would be helping us in a positive manner. I have requested Kris Meeker to coordinate the volunteers. If you are willing to help, give her a call at 262/515-3363.

All of the Catholic schools in Kenosha are in need of substitutes. If you have a teaching license (any state but valid) or a sub license, we need you. Please contact my office and I will submit your name to the principal at St. Mary's who is coordinating our sub list.

We had a fire drill last week. The students were well behaved and evacuated the building in 58 seconds. As I made the announcement to the staff and students after the drill on their great cooperation, I heard sirens in the distance…many sirens. I realized I forgot to call our security company that we were having a drill. The company sent out the alarm to the Kenosha Fire Department as soon as our alarms were tripped for the drill. With egg on my face and with great humility I meekly went out to greet them. They had our buildings surrounded with pumper trucks, ladder units and other fire fighting equipment. I was contrite but very pleased that they responded within 6 minutes from the time we tripped the alarm for the fire drill. They understood and were quite nice about the mistake. So, this is my way of saying thank you to our fire department for understanding and for the great job they do for our city.

God Bless,

Mr. G
