Educational
Support Groups
As is evident from the variety of programs offered,
many parishioners must be involved to provide for the teachers and other
support staff. These ministries follow.
Catechists/Aides
The St. Mark Religious Education Program addresses
the needs of our children from three years old through high school Confirmation.
Many teaching and teacher aide opportunities are available in the Religious
Education program at every grade level.
Nursury During Religious Education Classes
These volunteers baby-sit the children of our
Religious Education Teachers during Religious Education on Wednesday afternoons.
Tutorial Services
There is always a need to work with students in
a tutorial setting. Many times people are needed in the grade school to
assist in special projects in the classroom.
Parents' Groups
In addition to the ministries listed above, two
very important support groups exist.
Home and School Association
The Home and School Association promotes communication
and cooperation between parents and teachers of St. Mark grade school.
Through it, parents gain an insight into the functions of the school,
and the teachers gain an insight into what is happening in the homes.
Overall objectives are: coordinating the spiritual and educational forces
of the home and school; offering school information to parents; encouraging
high standards of family life; creating an appreciation of Catholic
education; and raising funds to support special programs and equipment
needs of the school. Five meetings are held during the school year.
Everyone is welcome to attend association functions which are held throughout
the year.
Religious Education Parents' Association (R-E-P)
The objective of this Religious Education Parents
group is to promote communication and cooperation between the parents
and the religious education teachers. In addition, this organization
raises funds to support special programs and equipment needs of the
program.
